The Institute of Public Administration Australia is a non-profit, non partisan professional body for all who have an interest in the promotion of good governance and excellence in public administration. The Institute, with its state and territory divisions, is long-established and is highly respected both within and beyond Australia.

The Northern Territory Division of the Institute has been established for almost 30 years, during which time it has actively promoted the discussion and dissemination of ideas with the objective of promoting best practice in governance and public administration. An important part of our work is to encourage the exchange of information about good governance developments and to create networks to improve the professionalism of the public sector.

The Division is a voluntary body which runs on the support and interest of its members. Members are encouraged to participate as actively as possible, to share ideas, and to make suggestions on the range of services provided.

We have an active program of events which are open to members and non-members. We are especially conscious that these are largely only accessible to those who live in urban areas. Accordingly, we hope through the use of appropriate technology to extend the benefits to members in remote areas of the Territory.

Present members are encouraged to remain with us, and new members are always welcome.
